Interesting

First off I'd like to address it's great you have confidence in yourself and that you took the time to disclose how you felt about your own pieces.

I need to address a few things that bothered me, though. First off the quality of most of your work is amateur at best, and you seemed quite convinced you had placed before us a masterpiece of inexplicable grandeur. I don't want to debunk you're enthuisiasm, though. Your willingness to talk about how you felt and why you did things with your works is a quality that many artists lack at your age(albiet I'm younger than you, but maybe that proves something).

Again, nothing wrong with your confidence, you just need to be aware you haven't achieved the level of potential you described here.

True as true can get

Aside from the top notch pixil animtion (which was splendidly supplemented with a gamers theme), your message was a true as it gets. I get so much shit from worrying about my hair on windy days, when really I have every reason to be concerned. Long curly hair just isn't the way to go in the months where you really need it.

Again, great animation, splendid movement, sound effects were spot on; good work!

Good

The script and audio was well done, but the animation wasn't as good as it could have been, it was off setting.

This is what happens when the quality of the audio far exceeds the quality of the animation, you get something quite obscure.

Bubbowrap responds:

Ch'yeah, there were a ton of parts where I sacrificed way too much on the animation side. I got a little too ambitious in the beginning.

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS MAN, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS.

Ruined it

The beginning seemed like a pleasantly well drawn, atmospheric piece with SOME meaning, but you ruined it with the anime crap afterwards. The music didn't fit at all, some of the tweens of them just standing are too long. If you would have just kept it as an adventure of that ant and his leaf, maybe you would have ended up with something a little better.

Where's the Originality?

I sure don't see any here.

How does taking the audio from an already funny skit, and then animating it with less than 'good' graphics makes this so appealing? It's more like dumbing down the comedy. The people here are just slightly more than sticks, and they just stay in place with jittery movements. When they finally start killing themselves, the quality there isn't too spectacular either. Which is another thing, It'd be different if there was more effort put into the animtion, because right now, the animation is souly dependent on the humor of the audio, which isn't even yours. That's the meain problem I have with all this.

I'm not trying to be a total douchebag, it's just this isn't very original at all, for all conveniant purposes it's like a parody. I just don't know what to say that can't be taken as me being an asshole, which doesn't really justify this review. What I can say is that while it is unoriginal, it was slightly funny, and the animation could have been much, much worse. Next time try animating more, and maybe depending less on the audio.

Nicely done!

The animation was simple in its own way, but had much to offer! It's short but that doesn't seem to take much away from this movie, all in all I think you did a great job.

Also +10 for using Justice, MY FAVORITE SONG TOOOOOO

haha thanks. your art is neato :).

Typical Newwgrounds Collab

Most of the humor was just not funny and a vast majority of the animation was just not good. The one exception to both of these was NoperDoperTrooper's part, he had great animation with half decent humor. The credits were awkwardly emotional compared to the rest of the collab, and it the music just didn't fit.

I'll give you a 5 because you obiosuly spent some time trying to make this.

Decent

I've never been a fan of stick animations, but this certainly did the job. Overall nice movement and tended to be fluid. I feel like if you can do this, you should try animating people in place of sticks, it's worth taking a whack at.

My one problem with you having submitted this is that it's already in a collab hosted the day before. There's little purpose in you submitting it again other than for the extra attention, and a award. This happened with the MGS collab and some of the all too numerous Sonic Shorts collabs, and I find it pointless and just wrong, I suppose.

Sadly I can't take this into account when critiqueing your submission, but it's definately something to consider.

Again, nice animation, and an interesting theme for a stick fight.

Quite the birthday gift!

I feel like dancing!

Good stuff

I suppose I can say this came together nicely, but I honestly dont' understand why everyone thinks this is ground-breakingly "serious". While I'll admit a good portion of the parts were stern in the mood, some unfortunately were not. I suppose due to limitations there were some sub-par submissions that didn't lace well with eachother, but in the end it turned out alright.

I gotta say, even though Winterwind is our in-house composer, his "Pale Ice" sure was relaxing and accompanied the intro splendidly.
